CUAUSA have donated Taka Twenty Lacs to the University of Chittagong for COVID-19 alleviation.

I am pleased to announce, to all of our CUAUSA members and anyone takes an interest, that CU Alumni Association of USA (CUAUSA) have donated Taka Twenty Lacs (tk 20,00,000.00) to the University of Chittagong for COVID-19 alleviation.

The Check was formally handed over to the honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhter on 16th August Sunday, in a brief ceremony. On behalf of CUAUSA it was handed over by our Executive Committee member Mohammed Emran of Florida in coordination with Chittagong University Alumni Association (CUAA).

Honorable VC in her speech recognized and appreciated CUAUSA for our help in this crisis of human sufferings.

Among CUAA EC members present at the ceremony were Karmul Hasan Haroon,Joint Secretary; Prof ABM Abu Noman, Law Secretary of CUAA and Dean of Law Faculty, CU; and honorable senior member, AJM Jahangir.

Also present at the ceremony were a number of respectable high officials from the University including Prof. Dr. Monir Uddin, Convener of University Health Center development project, Prof. Dr. Monirul Hasan Registrar in-Charge; Prof. Dr. Shyamal Ranjan Chakroborti; Prof. Dr. Mohammed Syedul Islam Sohel; Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al Faroque, Prof. AHM Rakibul Mowla.

Additionally, I am glad to announce that CUAA is working on a new Covid-19 project so that we can donate similar funds to them once an appropriate project is identified and planned.

With this, I like to take the opportunity to thank all of our members for your contributions to this great humanitarian effort in order to help CU alumni and others in Bangladesh during this unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, I like to extend my sincere gratitude to all of you for patiently waiting to see our funds aptly disbursed to Bangladesh.
