CU Alumni USA & CUAA jointly donated RT-PCR machine to the University of Chittagong.

We CU Alumni USA are proud to announce that Chittagong University Alumni Association (CUAA) in Bangladesh and Chittagong University Alumni Association of USA (CUAUSA) jointly donated RT-PCR machine to the University of Chittagong.

The RT-PCR machine is used for the COVID-19 Test called the PCR test which is a real-time accurate test for qualitative Covid detection. The cost of the machine was around 25 Lacs Bangladesh taka. CU Alumni USA (CUAUSA) has donated 15 Lacs taka. The unit shall be used at the Chittagong University Medical Center.

On behalf of our two organizations, the Machine was handed over to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shireen Akhter at a handover ceremony. The ceremony took place on October 2, 2021, at the World Trade Center Building of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce at Agrabad, Chattogram.

CU Alumni President: Md Abdul Karim (Ex Principal Secretary) and CU Alumni General Secretary: Mahbubul Alam (President-Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry) along with CU Alumni executive committee members were present at the ceremony.

The ceremony was very lively. Hon’ble VC and many Alumni executive committee members including President and General Secretary spoke at the ceremony.

Alumni members of Florida contributed 8 Lacs 50 thousand takas towards our 15 Lacs taka Donation. Congratulations to CUAUSA- FLORIDA Chapter for their generous contribution.

CU Alumni USA previously donated 20 Lacs taka to the University to deal with the Covid-19 crisis last year. So far we have donated a total of 35 Lacs taka to the University Medical Center.

Our donations are part of our organization’s (CU Alumni USA) commitment to helping develop University Medical Center into a Full-service University Hospital in coordination with the CU Alumni Association in Bangladesh.
